Kebra Nagast

The Kebra Nagast (Glory of Kings) is the Ethiopian national saga, compiled in the 14th century from earlier Coptic, Arabic, and Ethiopic sources. It narrates the encounter between King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba (Makeda), the birth of their son Menelik I, and the transfer of the Ark of the Covenant from Jerusalem to Axum.

This edition uses the E.A. Wallis Budge (1922) English translation from the Ge’ez. Public domain.
