3 Enoch (Odeberg 1928)

3 Enoch, also called the Hebrew Apocalypse of Enoch or Sefer Hekhalot (Book of the Palaces), is a Jewish mystical text from the Merkavah tradition. It frames a dialogue between R. Ishmael ben Elisha and the archangel Metatron, who reveals himself as the transformed Enoch. It is a foundational text of early Jewish mysticism (Hekhalot literature).
